Interzonal 2008 Team Championship

The Interzonal 2008 Team Championship started on Saturday 27 December 2008. Each ICCF zone is represented by a team of 8 players with the exception of the European zone which has three teams. The format is a double round robin with each participant playing 10 games - one with white and one with black against each opponent. The moves are transmitted by means of the ICCF web server. The event will be rated and title norms are possible on all the boards.

Slovakia joins Direct Entry

Council of the  Correspondence Chess Association of the Slovak Republic has decided as of 01.01.09 to participate in the ICCF Direct Entry Program.  We welcome all Slovak players to register for ICCF Tournaments through your National Federation or through Direct Entry.  This decision also makes all Slovak players eligible for participation in the ICCF Direct Entry Promotion being held from 01.01.09 - 31.03.09.

Dear chessfriends,
It is very good to learn that the doubling of days are implemented in the webserver play! Thus it means that the new set of rules as valid from 1.1.2009 now can be published.

Time Calculation Amendment

A server update which contains the new time calculation rule as decided by congress is in preparation. This new time calculation includes a time duplication after a number of days (20 by default). It is to be used for all tournaments with start date January 1st 2009 and later.  *** Updated, see server message here ***
